Terms of Use

Last updated: January 1, 2026

Beacons IEP is an organizational and educational tool for parents of children receiving special education services. It is not a law firm, it does not provide legal advice, and using Beacon does not create an attorney-client relationship.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You confirm you have legal authority over the child whose information you enter.

2. No legal guarantee

We never use the word “guarantee” and we do not promise specific IEP outcomes. Grace's suggestions reflect generally accepted practice — schools are generally expected to follow IDEA, but the specifics of how that plays out vary.

3. Accuracy

Information on Beacon is provided in good faith for educational purposes. Always verify against your original IEP document and consult a qualified special education attorney for legal matters.

4. Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Beacons IEP's total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

5. Acceptable use

You may not use Beacon to (a) violate any law, (b) infringe anyone's privacy, (c) attempt to reverse-engineer the platform, or (d) upload documents you do not have rights to.

6. Refunds & cancellations

Digital guides (one-time purchases): all sales are final. Because every guide is an instantly-delivered digital file (PDF, e-book, or downloadable template), we do not offer refunds or exchanges once an order is placed. Please review each product's description, sample content, and inclusions before purchasing.

Subscriptions: You may cancel from your account at any time. Cancellation stops future billing immediately; we do not pro-rate the current billing period. You keep access to paid features until the end of the period you've already paid for.

This policy is consistent with industry-standard practice for downloadable digital goods. Statutory consumer-protection rights that cannot be waived under applicable law are not affected.

7. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that violate these Terms. On termination we retain data only as required for legal/audit purposes.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the state in which Beacons IEP is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms; we'll post the updated date at the top of this page.
