Privacy Policy

Beacons IEP exists to support parents. Protecting your family's data is foundational. Here's exactly what we do and do not do.

What we collect

• Account info: email and (optionally) name.
• IEP documents you upload.
• Tracker entries: goals, services, communications.
• Usage events (e.g., which page you visited) for product improvement.

How we store it

All data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.2+). IEP files are stored in private Cloudinary buckets with signed URLs that expire.

What we never do

• We never sell or share your data with third parties.
• We never use your IEP documents to train AI models.
• We never share information with schools or districts.

AI processing

When you upload an IEP, the extracted text is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) for analysis. The provider does not retain this data for training.

Account deletion

You can delete your account in one click. All identifiable data is deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Children's privacy (COPPA)

Beacon is a platform for parents who are 18+. Children do not create accounts. Parents are responsible for the information they enter about their child.
